All of my uber drivers in the area were fantastic- provided great information about the area, recommendations, even took scenic routes if that was an option I wanted to explore. Pros : The customer service was more than amazing from Check in to guest services. Cons : The prices for everything is too high.
Also they need a movie theatre. Pros : Overall the trip was fun and the kids enjoyed it. They usually always love going to Great Wolf Lodge. Cons : Our room was supposed to be ready by 3pm and we got there closer to 1pm in hopes that it would be ready early as stated originally was possible.
Best Hotels in Grapevine, TX
Our room wasn't ready till at least 5pm but it wasn't a big deal because we could spend that time at the waterpark anyways however it would have been nice to get checked in first. The price is always a little steep especially whenever the outdoor part was really too cold to enjoy. The arcade prices are the most ridiculous out of any other arcade we have been to. Pros : safe and well managed water park with LOTS of lifeguards. Parking is difficult. Pros : The water park was a lot of fun for my little one, I do think that it can be kept cleaner though. Dirty floors and towels. Cons : There wasn't much to do besides the water park that didn't require tons of money.
Besides the magiquest there wasn't much to do and we didn't even do that because it takes on average hours. Who has valet parking at a place advertised to be a family hotel, come on now The waterpark is the only thing included with your room rate, beware of all the add-ons! Pros : We absolutely loved this place!! We will definitely be back for more!! Pros : Our kids enjoyed the water park. Cons : The rooms were outdated - paint chipping, things falling apart.
We had to wait more than an hour for our room to be ready. The staff was not friendly. We were next to a room of teenagers that kept us up until We called downstairs and they came up once to quiet them down. But the problem was the walls were so thin. Even just TVs and regular talking could be heard clearly in the next room. Pros : First and most importantly, my children had a blast. As parents, we liked the outside area better for less chlorine smell and burn.
The staff was very nice and attentive from the front desk to the cleaning ladies to the lifeguard and activity leaders. The front desk gave my son a special birthday wolf ears and a token for a free ice cream since he just had his birthday. There was a lot to do besides just the water park which was nice. Our room was clean when we arrived and that was the first thing we checked. I read reviews of crumbs in beds, bed bugs, mold in the bathrooms and so on so I was very nervous about this.
But our rooms were great. We loved that they had starbucks right in the lodge! We only got lunch items from the Lodge and went out to dinner off property but we didn't find the food to be that bad or overpriced. My suggestion would be to order a whole pizza instead of slices and just reheat in the microwave for following days to save a lot of money! We also purchased 2 refillable cups and used them for the whole trip which was nice. I was also happy that they had salad options for us adults who didn't want to go overboard on unhealthy choices.
And for those that are really on a budget, the rooms have a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We brought breakfast and snacks and even brought our own toaster from home. You can eat whatever you want in your room instead of buying everything there.
All of the guests that we had interactions with were nice and also seemed to be having a great time. The location is great with a grocery store, restaurants and entertainment nearby so while you may be tempted to never leave the hotel, you have many options around. If you forget anything don't worry, they have a lot of clothing, toiletries, bags, bathing suits and so on for purchase right at the lodge.
You never really need to leave if you don't want to which is great for people who take a flight there. Cons : As some other reviewers mentioned, there is a strong smell of chlorine in the inside part. But honestly, this is expected and similar to every indoor pool I have ever been to. But for this reason we spent most of our time at the outdoor section. Renting a cabana is very expensive. We were able to find some shaded seats although they are a little hard to come by.
Other people mentioned rust and I didn't see it until I waited in line for the slides with my oldest son. There is some rust along the stairs and on the doors to the bathroom. Did I ever feel nervous about it, no. It was NOT rusty nails sticking up all over the place that a kid could easily run over and get hurt on. It is a very moist and corrosive environment so it is bound to happen. Would it be better if they fixed it, yes.
But again, I wasn't too worried. The water in our shower would have pockets of colder water come here and there, again not the end of the world but not perfect either. On the flip side, the sink water in the inside downstairs bathroom was incredibly hot, I had to collect the water in my hands and hope it cooled enough to then rinse my kids' hands. They have a candy area right by the refillable drinks that my youngest was attracted to and we had to keep on pulling him away. One of my children has type 1 diabetes and a gluten allergy so we try to stay away from candy, sweets and bakery items for the whole family when we are with her.
The placement of this candy and lack of alternative items made for some sour moments but luckily I came prepared with snacks of our own. Pros : Indoor water park is included with your stay. We have been going to the Great Wolf every December for 9 years now. Our three kids have always enjoyed our stay here until this year Staff very sweet and apologetic, but apologies don't get me my full experience for my dollar. Cons : Our room was not ready at pm check in. It took 2 hours and 23minutes to get our room. The Hotel did not offer anything for this inconvenience, I had to ask.
We we're not the only family who's room was not ready Disappointed this year. Reconsidering our trip next December. Might start new tradition. Comfort Inn. Feel rested and ready for anything when you stay at the smoke-free Comfort Inn hotel in Grapevine, TX. Enjoy such amenities as free WiFi, free parking, free hot breakfast, meeting room, business and fitness centers and an outdoor pool.
Behind every great day is a great night in your cozy guest room, which features a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer and TV. Pros : It was inexpensive but did not feel cheap. The room was better than some pricier hotels I've stayed in. Cons : Refrigerator didn't get cold enough Air conditioning never actually cooled down the room Light in bathroom was super dim hard to shower Bathroom sink was almost impossible to use Cleaning service didn't clean everything Breakfast was pretty awful Staff was unprofessional personal calls, chatting with each other while customers were waiting, only half were in uniforms.
Pros : Room was nice and breakfast was great. Bathrooms nice as well. Spacious for sleeping. Pros : Breakfast was decent. We liked the location. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Cons : The rooms smelled musty and were damp. Room was terrible. Room was somewhat better. Drains were slow. Cable went out on Saturday mid evening and was not back up until late the following morning.
